My name is Sa-ngiam Yarangsee and I was born on November 15, 1970. I seriously began painting landscapes when I studied in the university for a degree in fine art. There I was charmed by impressionism and was convinced that it is a great style. At the time it was an artistic style out of trend and every artist would rather use newer styles, but not me. Later I went to a famed hill named Doi Mae Salong in Chiang Rai to write a thesis on impressionist art. I was so impressed by the area that I returned after graduation. "Formerly, I created art with close subjects or far away subjects, sometimes focusing both, which gave a certain sense of dimension. I initially felt very serious with all the details and all but later discovered what's beyond, and I especially found in the mountain and in the sky freer and happier feelings. I, and maybe other people who also truly enjoy the beauty of nature, see in 'landscape' mode more than in 'focus' mode. I am particularly interested in the story of the mountain and the sky, and collectors always notice that my skies have special and unique characteristics. There is a special atmosphere in the morning and evening. I love these moments because I can see certain colors and I think it's when the sky and light are softest and most beautiful.
