The child stars of Canadian television drama THE KIDS OF DEGRASSI STREET grew to adolescence in the spin-off series DEGRASSI JUNIOR HIGH. Expanding on the realism that made its predecessor such a hit, the spin-off tackled a wide range of issues plaguing modern teens--from popularity, dating, and sex, to the death of a parent, domestic abuse, and drugs--with a groundbreaking frankness that influenced later teen soap operas such as BEVERLY HILLS 90210. This collection includes six powerful episodes from the series' third season: in the two-parter Taking Off, Wheels (Neil Hope) decides to track down his birth father while Shane (Billy Parrott) takes acid at a rock concert; in Making Whoopee, Arthur (Duncan Waugh) dislikes his father's new girlfriend and tries to break them up; in Black& White, Michelle's (Maureen McKay) parents forbid her to date BLT (Dayo Ade) because he is black; in Pa-arty, Lucy (Anais Granofsky) throws a party while her parents are out of town; and in Bye-bye Junior High, the school burns down at the year-end graduation dance.
